MICHELE KING MCKELLAR
) was a partner in the firm until becoming of counsel in 2010. Prior to and after graduating from the University of Wyoming Law School in 1986, Ms. McKellar served as law clerk for the judges of the First Judicial District Court, Laramie County, Wyoming, the Honorable Joseph Maier and Honorable Edward Grant. Ms. McKellar was admitted to the State Bars of Wyoming and Colorado in 1986 and 1987, respectively. Since 1988, Ms McKellar has worked as a trial attorney in both Colorado and Wyoming. Ms. McKellar has served as lead counsel in a large variety of cases, including matters involving personal injury, wrongful death, property and casualty claims, criminal defense, insurance coverage matters, commercial litigation, complex civil litigation, employment termination and civil rights litigation, and environmental toxic tort litigation. Her litigation experience also includes acting as lead counsel in numerous jury and bench trials as well as numerous other administrative hearings and appeals. Ms. McKellar has appeared before Wyoming Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the Colorado Court of Appeals and many Colorado and Wyoming state district courts. Ms. McKellar has also represented clients in numerous mediations. For the last several years, Ms. McKellar's emphasis has been on employment and civil rights litigation and counseling. Ms. McKellar received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas, at Austin in 1974 and her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Wyoming in 1986. Ms. McKellar is an active member of the Wyoming Bar Association, the Laramie County Bar Association and the Colorado Plaintiff Employment Lawyers Association. She is a past president of the Larimer County Women's Bar Association and a member of Defense Lawyers Association of Wyoming.
